Lincoln Co-Pilot360 is a suite of advanced driver assistance systems installed in every Lincoln. We’re going to look at some of these Lincoln safety features and how they work to protect you and your passengers.

2024 Lincoln Safety Features: Technology That Protects You

Blind Spot Information and Cross-Traffic Alert

Despite your best efforts of checking and rechecking your mirrors, there are some areas around your Lincoln that you can’t see. These areas hide potential dangers, as a vehicle in a blind spot is effectively invisible. Sensors in your Lincoln monitor all blind spots and instantly alert you if anything moves into one.

Cross-Traffic Alert works with this system to scan the area immediately behind you when you reverse. Its sensors will sound a warning if a vehicle moves behind you, giving you enough time to hit the brakes and avoid a rear-end collision.

Auto High Beam Lamps

High beams give you additional visibility at night, but they can potentially cause an accident as they shine directly into the eyes of any approaching drivers. Additionally, they’re ineffective in fog or snow, as these conditions reflect the light at you. This system uses sensors to identify oncoming headlights and instantly switches to low beams until the other vehicle has moved away. It also switches to low beams if it identifies light reflection from snow or fog.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking

A camera and radar continually scan the road ahead for vehicles, pedestrians, or animals. If an object is detected, the system swiftly calculates the distance between your Lincoln and the object to determine if a collision is possible. If there’s a collision risk, you’ll hear warning beeps and a warning icon appears on your screen. This provides sufficient warning to brake and avoid an accident.

If you can’t brake in time, the system engages emergency braking to stop your vehicle instantly, preventing an accident or reducing damage caused by one.

Lane Keeping System

It’s easy to stray out of your lane at night or if you’re distracted. Unfortunately, this can cause an accident if a vehicle in the other lane can’t stop in time. A dedicated camera identifies the road lines, and once identified, the system works to keep you inside the lane. This feature will instantly beep if your wheels cross into another lane and you’re not actively steering.

Rear View Camera

When you shift into reverse, a rear camera activates and displays a view of the area behind you on your front screen. It also provides guidelines on the screen to make reversing or parallel parking safe and effortless.
