The 2025 Lincoln Aviator is comfortable, stylish, and luxurious. Its powerful engine and meticulously designed and engineered systems deliver the top-level performance you expect from a Lincoln. These high-quality systems require servicing and maintenance to continue to provide this performance, as even Lincoln components will eventually wear out. As your Lincoln dealer, we want to give you a few examples of the types of maintenance we provide.
Examples of Maintenance for Your 2025 Lincoln Aviator Available at Your Lincoln Dealer
Oil Replacement
Your Aviator has a 3.0L V6 in-turbocharged engine, and it uses high-quality 5W-30 synthetic oil. Synthetic oil lasts longer and can withstand higher temperatures than regular oil. It’s pumped through the engine by the oil pump, covering countless engine components in a protective coating that reduces friction. It also contains specialized additives that protect against rust, keep your engine clean, and break down potential blockages.
Synthetic oil will become less effective over time as it thickens and slows down due to the accumulation of dirt and other minute debris absorbed in its travels through the engine. Thick, slow-moving oil increases wear and tear on engine components and could even block the oil filter, causing engine damage. To prevent these problems, we drain and replace your oil and install a new oil filter, and this is performed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
Battery Testing
The battery’s most important job is to start your engine. It sends a strong electrical charge to the starter solenoid when you hit the start button. This charge powers up the solenoid, causing the starter to crank the engine and begin the combustion process. Once the engine runs, a mini generator called the alternator will start to recharge the battery.
The chemicals inside a battery that allow it to store electricity gradually break down. This reduces its storage capacity, and the engine will take longer to start. On average, a battery will wear out and need replacement after three to five years. We recommend regular battery testing, starting in a battery’s third year. Our computerized battery tester can easily identify a weak battery, and we can quickly replace it for you.
Air Filter Replacement
Combustion requires huge quantities of air, but this air must be clean, as dirt or other particles can damage sensitive engine components. Air flows in through the radiator grille and passes into the engine air filter. This filter traps dust and other debris, allowing the clean air to pass into the intake manifold, where it mixes with the fuel.
The air filter will eventually become clogged with dirt, restricting airflow into the engine. If this happens, the engine will misfire or stall due to a lack of air. The filter is usually replaced every 30,000 miles to prevent this problem.
